Todd Island Park - Just Minutes Away

Island Park, which is in the middle of the New River off Railroad Grade Road, is a popular
hiking, fishing, swimming and picnic spot. The park, purchased by the local community,
also has a kayak & canoe launch and a walking trail. It is supported by the Todd
Community Preservation Organization. Todd, which straddles the Watauga and Ashe County borders on N.C. 194, is a popular destination for bikers, joggers and kayakers. The town has a number of historic buildings, including the 1914-era Todd General Store and Todd Mercantile, as well as a non-profit arts center. Its a popular gathering spot for musicians, too, with impromptu mountain music jams erupting practically every weekend. |
