The Northwestern corner of North Carolina is New River country. The New River is believed to be one of the oldest rivers in North America. The New River was designated an American Heritage River on July 30, 1998. The New River meanders through the River Ridge facility. Guests staying will enjoy taking leisurely walks along the river as well as the paved roads in the River Ridge facility. You may even see some geese swim by. For those avid fly fishers you will love fishing for those smallmouth bass, just a short walk from your vacation property.
